To ensure that we address every aspect of student life here at Laurier, we have four committees within LOCUS whose sole job is to program events and activities for every first year off-campus student. Those committees are: Student Balance, LOCUS Link, Locuteering, and House Council. Some of these committees also provide leadership opportunities for you to enjoy!
STUDENT BALANCE COMMITTEE The Student Balance Committee creates events for the entire LOCUS population that focus on a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Past events have included weekly workouts, time management sessions, snow tubing, hockey games and much more. This committee is headed by our executive Erik Ongarato. |
LOCUTEERING COMMITTEE Locuteering creates events for the entire LOCUS population focused on giving back in a fun and creative way. Past events have included Operation Christmas Child packing, penny drive, clothing drive, a high five procession, BBQ for Right to Play and much more. This committee is headed by our executive Samantha Hershey. |
HOUSE COUNCIL COMMITTEE The House Council Committee assists the LOCUS House Council, a group of first year students, in planning and facilitating events for the entire LOCUS population. Past events have included a 90s party, a LOCUS-wide birthday bash, and an annual charity casino event. This committee is headed by our executive Kyle McCord. |
LOCUS LINK COMMITTEE LOCUS Link focuses on providing students information in fun and creative ways about many resources throughout the school. They plan on hosting workshops about many things from how to use the Writing Centre to tips on how to apply for positions on campus. They also plan on providing a social calendar to the students of LOCUS on activities that WLU is hosting all around campus! This committee is headed by our executive Chelsea Uggenti. |
